How I used Dunn-Edward’s Moss Cottage to add Richness, Drama and Dimension to our Home

Creating Intentional Accent Walls

When it came time to renovate our own home, we knew we wanted a color that would bring richness, drama, and depth—while staying true to our rustic aesthetic. In this post, I’m sharing how Moss Cottage helped us elevate our space, along with my favorite go-to paint products that deliver a stunning finish and lasting durability.

Cozy, Nature Inspired Spaces

By coating our Board & Batten and Channel Groove Millwork in Moss Cottage, we introduced depth, texture, and a touch of drama to the space. Embracing the boldness, we extended the color across the entire wall—including window casings, baseboards, and even wall heaters—creating a richly layered backdrop that feels both cozy and serene.

What Color is Moss Cottage?

Dunn-Edwards’ Moss Cottage is a deep, muted green-paint color that evokes a sense of tranquility and natural elegance. It is a unique and captivating color that is often associated with nature. It is a shade that is commonly observed in plants and other natural surroundings. I selected Moss Cottage because it flows beautifully with all the other natural elements throughout our home.

My Favorite Go-To Paint Products

While Moss Cottage is from the Dunn-Edwards collection, I had it matched to my favorite Benjamin Moore Products. For trim-work including Board & Batten & Channel Groove walls I used Benjamin Moore’s Advanced Satin. It’s a Hybrid Product that levels out beautifully when brushed on leaving a flawless finish.

For walls my go-to product we use in all our client’s homes is the Benjamin Moore’s Scuff-X Matte. I love the maximum durability & impressive finish without the shine. All my ceilings are tinted to the same color as our main wall & trim color, Benjamin Moore’s White Dove.

The main takeaway is not to be be afraid to explore rich colors that cohesively flow with the other elements in your home. After all, when it comes to your home, it’s all about you, right?
