Virginia DesRoches and John Foran are the dynamic couple and trailblazing visionaries behind Ironwood Studio, an all-encompassing firm that seamlessly merges construction and interior design along the South Coast of MA. Rooted in strong family values, they have earned a robust reputation for their work in designing, building, and renovating family homes from floor plans to furnishings of extraordinary quality and character.

Virginia was born & raised visiting construction sites. From an early age, she can remember her father rebuilding their home brick by brick. It was this early experience that sparked her passion for the home industry.
Prior to launching Ironwood Studio, Virginia spent close to two decades working in New England residential and commercial construction. It is this keen expertise that allows her to serve as the trusted advisor to families seeking to combine functionality with beauty for busy family living. A mother to two teenage sons, Virginia has completed her own full gut renovation and deeply understands the importance of creating a safe haven for your family.
On weekends you can find her spending time with her teenage sons and partner John or scoping out new antique shoppes for one of a kind items for her client’s homes.
John Foran

With 20+ years of experience in building, framing and fine carpentry and 10+ years as a Project Manager, John plays a key role in the successful execution of all Ironwood’s designs, new builds, and renovations. He also brings a secret talent to the team — custom craftsmanship — John has an amazing ability to work with a multitude of raw materials to create one-of-a-kind handcrafted designs from specialty millwork, custom hoods, lighting fixtures, signage, accessories & wall décor for our client’s homes and businesses.
John understands the complexities of this Industry and the many moving parts it entails which is why he diligently works alongside each of the Trades & Vendors to take care of every detail to ensure each and every project lives up to our high standards.
When John isn’t knee-deep in floor plans and woodworking projects, you can find him working out at the gym and enjoying the great outdoors.
Allison Solomon
S E N I O R D E S I G N E R
Allison Solomon joined the Ironwood Team in 2020 when the pandemic brought the opportunity to move from Frisco, TX and she fell in love with the area. She appreciates the more traditional design elements that are prevalent here and has enjoyed exploring them in-depth and executing them in new ways.
She brings a deep knowledge of Interior Design and the professional confidence to guide clients, ensuring the result is a space carefully crafted just for them. She has an intrinsic sense of clients’ personality that enables her to meet a client in their space and know almost exactly where the project needs to go – and more importantly – where the client expects the project to go.
She enjoys spending her downtime with her boyfriend and pup Darcy – they are a laid-back family who enjoy simple things. She is also passionate about travel, exploring the world and its cultures to push beyond boundaries and gather new design inspiration.
